Newry and Armagh MLA Cathal Boylan has commended Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins for her leadership in launching a new anti-drug driving campaign as part of Road Safety Week.
The Sinn Féin transport spokesperson met with the minister to discuss the campaign, which aims to tackle one of the most dangerous behaviours on roads across the island. Speaking after the meeting, Boylan highlighted the devastating impact dangerous driving has had across his constituency and beyond.
"I have seen the devastating impact of dangerous driving across our constituency and beyond, which leaves families shattered and loved ones scarred," he said.
Boylan described Minister Kimmins' commitment to addressing the issue as both timely and necessary, adding that every effort must be made to tackle dangerous driving and build safer communities.
"We must do all we can to tackle dangerous driving, save lives and builder safer communities for everyone," the MLA said.
The anti-drug driving campaign was launched as part of Road Safety Week, with Boylan thanking the minister for her work in promoting safer roads. "I want to commend and thank Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins for her leadership in launching this new campaign," he said.
