The Brain Injury Foundation is hosting an Open Day next Tuesday 16 May at their premises in Camlough.
The Brain Injury foundation (BIF) is a group for Brain Injury Survivor's and their families and carer's. It was launched by a group of survivor's, carers and volunteers in August 2012 and has over 100 member from all over Newry and Mourne, Armagh, Banbridge and Dungannon ( The Southern Trust Area) BIF supports people with all forms of brain injuries including strokes
BIF differs from many charities in that it is service and user lead. Almost all of our management Committee are brain injury survivors or carers. Many of the services offered by BIF are delivered in part or completely by brain injury survivors or carers, . This means that services are tailored to meet the real needs of Brain Injury Survivors and carer's
The event is for members of the public and professionals to come along and see the services available for people with an aquired brain injury and for their carers and family members. Essentially the organisation is asking the question "Can our service help you or someone you know?"
The Open Day is on Tuesday 16 May from 11am to 3pm.
Brain Injury Foundation is at 23 Newry Road, Camlough, BT35 7JP.
The aims of the organisation are: To empower brain injury survivors and their carers and families to design, deliver and monitor a programme of activities and a range of services which enhance their quality of life and address their needs, in particular social isolation. To provide brain injury survivors, their carers and families with information and emotional support and To raise awareness of the needs of brain injury survivors, their carers and families and to lobby for additional resources to be made available to meet such needs
