Breast Mates Newry has launched its Bookcase Fundraising Campaign at Newry Bus Station, with local representatives and community supporters turning out for the occasion on Saturday, 9 May. The event aimed to raise awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer in the Newry area.

Among those attending the launch were Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins, Councillor Valerie Harte and Daire Hughes MP, whose presence was acknowledged and appreciated by the group.
Breast Mates Newry also extended thanks to Bronagh and Ruairi from Translink for their help in facilitating the event at the station.
A spokesperson for Breast Mates Newry said: "We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and supported the launch. Events like this help raise awareness, encourage conversation, and remind people facing cancer that they are not alone."
Breast Mates Newry provide support, friendship and fundraising initiatives for local people affected by cancer, while also promoting awareness and early detection within the community.
