Donna Sloan a mother of four, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March of 2021. Up to this she was perfectly healthy but in a short time, Donna has lost the ability to walk, talk and eat without assistance.
Her family are in a race to find a cure and as they say "we hope to win this race."
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a terminal condition with no cure which affects the brain and nerves. The disease gets progressively worse impacting; walking, speaking, swallowing, and breathing along with other things. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a type of MND that is impacting Donna.

The Do It For Donna Campaign aims to raise awareness, educate and fundraise with the goal of finding a life changing treatment or cure for Donna.
The Climb for Donna this weekend is the first event organised by the DoItForDonnaCampaign
Donna has chosen to donate a portion of the funds raised from today’s events to support the Climb with Charlie fundraiser which is being organised all over Ireland on the same day in conjunction with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Any money above this will be added to a fund to find a cure for Donna. There are experimental treatments undergoing clinical trials and when released will cost a lot of money.
If Donna loses her battle before a cure is found all money raised within the “DoItForDonna” campaign will be donated towards treating MND in Ireland to help support families and fund research.
