Write a commentThe Newry Cancer Research Committee and their guests thoroughly enjoyed a great day out at Tandragee Golf Course to host their third Charity Golf Classic on Friday 5th September 2014.
The event proved to be a great opportunity for committee members and guests to enjoy a relaxed day out on the golf course while raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK. To date the provisional amount raised was in excess of £8,000.
The Golf Classic involved a four ball competition, won by: Joe Campbell, Joe Donaghy, Stephen Burns and Terry McCann with a score of 100 points. Second place with a score of 98 points was Paul Digney, Noel Campbell, Jim Havern and Mick Sands. Third place was Allen Morton, Stevie Walker, Kenny Nixon and Trevor Lovell with 96 points. Ladies competition was won by: Marie McKibben (Kilkeel Golf Club), Heather Patterson, Janet Connor, Marlene Nelson with a score of 93 points.
The competition for ladies nearest to the pin was won by: Julie McCartan and winner for the gents was Jim Havern.
