Two males have been arrested by PSNI Officers on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs.
On Monday evening past, police were on patrol when they observed a male on Dominic Street who made off from them as they approached. The male ran into Barcroft Park where he entered a forest. Officers searched the forest area and subsequently located the male with two other males in Barcroft Park. The three again made off from police and a strong smell of cannabis was noted. Officers gave chase and a 17 year old male was detained. A small bag of cannabis was recovered a short distance away.
The 17 year old male was arrested for possession of Class B drugs and obstruction and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
A 16 year old male was also arrested for possession of Class B drugs and was interviewed. He will be reported to the PPS.
