Local PSNI Response Officers mad a visit to Kingsmill Primary School recently and pupils got a glimpse into the world of policing.
Constables Edwards and Angus dropped into the school to introduce themselves to staff and pupils and to take the opportunity to get to know the younger members of their community a little better.
The officers visited all classes in the school and gave pupils the opportunity to look at the equipment that police use on a daily basis including: radios, torches, handcuffs, laser speed detection and breath testers. The children also got to try on public order gear and explore a police cell van and landrover.
Constables Edwards and Angus were inundated with questions and spoke to the children about road safety.
Constable Edwards said: "It was great to get to meet the pupils of Kingsmill Primary School and see, first hand, their enthusiasm. They had so many questions for us and we tried to answer them all.
"We hope that this visit provided an insight into policing for the children and that it will help them to recognise us as people who are there to help and support them."
