This year sees Clonduff Youth Club celebrate 50 Years of existence and the club is looking forward to hosting a celebration concer in October. Since 1973 the club has provided an essential role for the young people of Clonduff Parish. One key milestone along this 50 year journey was the opening of the purpose built centre in the middle of the village which first opened in 1986. The centre has been a focal point and safe haven for children to play and socialise since. The centre also opens its doors for multiple community uses so much so that over the course of last year the footfall into the building was well into the thousands.
Recently the Youth Club benefited from the NMDDC Shopfront Grant and were able to give the building a facelift with the help of local Project Manager Damian Canning who oversaw the Project.
Plans are well underway for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of Clonduff Youth Club. The highlight of the celebrations will be a concert on Saturday 14th October featuring The Clonduff Orchestra, a collection of local musicians and singers coming together for a one-off performance in the INF Hilltown. Musicians have been practicing already for the concert and anyone not already involved can get in touch with Francis Quinn on 07740422616.
