Wreaths from Newry Cenotaph lying in the Clanrye River. Photograph: Columba O'HareLocal business people on the way to work this morning couldn't miss the sight of Wreaths from Newry Cenotaph floating in the Clanrye River.

At least three wreaths have ended up floating face down in shallow water just in front of Newry Town Hall.

The Cenotaph was erected to remember the dead from the two world wars and has been the target of vandals over the years, although it has been left alone in recent times.
