Write a commentGillian Fitzpatrick, Chairperson, Newry, Mourne and Down Council is hosting the very first Chairperson's Charity Ball at the Canal Court in Newry on Friday 12 May and tickets are now on sale.
It will be a highlight of the District’s social calendar in 2017, not to mention a very important fundraiser for Newry, Mourne and Down’s five nominated charities, Southern Area Hospice, Mind Your Mate and Yourself (MYMY) & PIPS, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and Autism H.A.N.D.
Commenting on the event Councillor Fitzpatrick said, “I am delighted to host the Council’s inaugural Charity Ball and I would like to invite everyone in the local community and beyond to come together to enjoy an evening of entertainment and fundraising.”
“I would particularly like to extend a sincere thank you to our sponsors Re-Gen Waste Ltd. and Felix O’Hare for their invaluable financial contribution and to the Canal Court and McCaddens for their generous in-kind support, all of which will ensure that more money will go directly to our four charities who work so tirelessly throughout our district for vulnerable people and those in need”.
This glittering gala night promises to be a sophisticated evening of delicious food and drink, fantastic entertainment and excellent company. Guests will be welcomed on arrival with a sparkling champagne reception sponsored by the Canal Court Hotel before being invited to sit for dinner.
Compare, Q Radio’s Kevin McAllister, will entertain guests throughout the night with plenty of quick wit and banter. No charity ball could end without dancing and guests will be unable to resist five piece band The Nooks’ unique blend of talent and charisma as they belt out everything from “hillbilly to hip hop”.
