Newry Public Sector workers joined nearly a Quarter of a Million Strikers across the north today in a Day of Action to protest against Budget Cuts and Pension changes.
Newry saw one of the largest crowds of strikers in many years march down Monaghan Row, Monaghan Street, Merchants Quay and Sugar Island to converge on the City Hall for 1pm.
Earlier protests had taken place at many premises around the city including Rathore School, Newry Health Village, Daisy Hill Hospital and Newry Council Offices.
