What the Dickens is happening on Hill Street this Christmas?
Oxfam is bringing joy to this festive season in Hill Street with Dickensian-themed carol singing, as well as Christmas celebrations in the Oxfam Newry shop in Marcus Square.
On Thursday December 8th and Thursday 15th, Oxfam has organised for some of Newry’s youth, dressed in
Dickensian costume, to sing carols – some old and maybe some with new words – sung by The Magnet Minstrels under the artistic and musical direction of Anthony Murney. The gents’ costume attire is courtesy of Louis Boyd Menswear.
You are also invited to the Oxfam shop at 6 Marcus Square in Newry, for home-made mince pies and non-alcoholic mulled wine, with all events in aid of Oxfam’s important work overseas – all the more necessary this year with the food crisis in East Africa, including famine in Somalia.
