The countdown is on … with less that a week to Take 2 of the charity Clash of the Titan’s between Armagh and Down.
The match will take place on Saturday 27th August @ 6pm at Ballyholland GAA, it will include members from the current Down and Armagh team and players from some of the Down 1994 All Ireland Champions and Armagh 2002 All Ireland Champions. The bitter rivals will once again come together for this charity match, with all proceeds going to the Southern Area Hospice.
This match has been organised by Paul Coulter with all proceeds going to the Southern Area Hospice. As a local charity the hospice provides care, comfort and support to patients and their families through a wide range of care services, which include; an in-patient unit in Newry, a Day Hospice in both Newry and the South Tyrone Hospital, Dungannon, outpatients clinics in the South Tyrone and Craigavon Hospitals, medical home care visits, social work service, care of the family and bereavement counselling. In 2011 the Hospice must fundraise over £2 million.
Una Fegan (SAHS) said “Paul’s Clash of the Titans last year was a fantastic success, raising over £16,000 for the hospice. He puts his heart and soul into organising the event and we wish him well with it this year.”
The is a fun event for the whole family, definitely one not to be missed. The event takes place at Ballyholland GAA Grounds, Newry on Saturday 27th August - throw in at 6pm. St Malachy’s Accordion Band, Kilcoo have kindly agreed to do a pre-match parade. The fun will continue after the match with entertainment in the Club House. Admission is £7 for adults and £3 for children, why not come along bring the family and support your local Hospice.
