The Greater Cloughreagh Community Association is once again hosting a Spooktacular Evening this Halloween night with Fancy Dress, Carved Pumpkins and an Enchanted Walk setting off from the Community Centre at 4pm.
The Halloween Beacon will be lit at 5.30pm and there will be a disco from 6 to 8pm.
This enjoyable event which is supported by Newry and Mourne District Council and Police and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) has developed into a highly popular family and community celebration and has helped ensure that the true traditions of the Halloween festival, family and fun, are enjoyed by all".
Fews area Sinn Fein Councillor Pat Mc Ginn has praised community, voluntary and sporting groups who are organising and hosting a wide variety of Halloween events over the coming weeks.
Councillor McGinn stated "Many believed that the festival of Halloween had become a by word for anti-social behaviour and vandalism. However the efforts of community, sporting and safety groups to organise Halloween events which bring together communities to celebrate this Festival in a safe, secure and happy environment is helping to alleviate this perception."
