Write a commentLiam Hannaway, Chief Executive of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is to retire in the Autumn. In a short statement the council gave notification of the move.
Mr Hannaway from Lislea was Chief Executive of Banbridge District Council from 2007-2014 and was appointed as Chief Executive to the new Newry, Mourne & Down District Council in April 2014. Mr Hannaway is also a keen member of Lislea Dramatic Players who recently held their festival.
The council statement reads "Newry, Mourne and Down District Council can advise that its Chief Executive, Mr Liam Hannaway, has given the Council notice of his intention to retire from Local Government in the Autumn of 2019."
