Write a commentFor the first time the Albert Basin Park appears as a key action in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s latest draft Corporate Plan.
The draft plan which sets out the council aims for the next four years includes the park along with the new Civic Centre, Theatre and Conference Centre and progress on the Belfast Regional City Deal.
The 2019-2023 Draft Corporate Plan is now out for consultation and is available for inspection and public consultation. The 12-week period, which began on Monday 9 September, will end on Monday 2 December at 5pm.
The Draft Corporate Plan sets out the vision and mission for Council, as well as eight Strategic Objectives that the Council will focus on over the next four years.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said, “Earlier in the year, we undertook an extensive engagement and consultative process about what should be in our new corporate plan with District Electoral Areas, and the business, community and voluntary sectors.
“I am delighted that we now have a draft plan for public consultation. It is very important that we receive as many comments as possible from residents on the priorities we have identified. We want everyone to have their say as this plan details our commitments to our district for the next four years.”
Chief Executive of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Liam Hannaway, said, “This new Corporate Plan is our vision for the district for the next four years. It sets out our mission and values and what we, as an organisation, want to achieve under eight key strategic objectives.
We have now completed our first term as a unified council and I am pleased to say that, while there are challenges when two organisations merge, we have progressed and achieved much over the past years and we look forward to progress in the years to come.”
The Draft Corporate Plan and the summary document can be downloaded below or viewed at www.newrymouredown.org along with an online survey that will help you to comment on its content.
