Credit Union hope to 'CU on Hill Street'

Newry Credit Union is holding a 50th Anniversary celebration concert on Hill Street in Newry on Sunday the 25th of August. 

The completely free concert entitled "CU on Hill Street’ will celebrate the Credit Union’s 50th Anniversary in Newry.

Hosted by Cool FM’s Connor Philips and will see The Loveable Rogues, Jordan O’Keefe, Derek Ryan and Marty Fay and the Bandidos take to the stage. Tickets go on General Release on Sunday the 25th of August 2013.

Hundreds of Newry Credit Union’s juvenile members have already secured golden circle tickets today for  the concert following  an exclusive release to their members.

Further tickets will go on general release on Friday 9th August from 9am, on a first come basis from Newry Arts Centre, Town Hall, Warrenpoint, Town Hall, Kilkeel and Crossmaglen Community Centre. Tickets are free of charge and will be limited to two per person.

Liam Quinn, President of Newry Credit Union said, “We are delighted to host this fantastic event, particularly for our juvenile members, but also for members of the general public to enjoy. We have allocated tickets to neighbouring Credit Unions, so if you are not a member of Newry Credit Union and miss out on the general release, you can contact your local Credit Union to see if they have tickets available. We have hosted a number of events throughout our anniversary year with this being one of the biggest. We have potential for thousands of people to enjoy free entertainment in the heart of the city and we hope that members and non-members will join us for this memorable celebration.”

The Loveable Rogues and Jordan O’ Keefe shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent with the Loveable Rogues signing to Simon Cowell’s label and touring with Ollie Murs last year. Derek Ryan is one of Ireland’s most popular country music stars while Marty Fay and the Banditos are a local Newry favourite.

All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult or guardian over 16 and tickets are restricted to two per person. Juvenile members of Newry Credit Union will be allocated tickets to the Golden Circle closest to the stage. There will be opportunities in local press and through Newry Credit Union Facebook page to win tickets to meet and greet the acts.

Gates will open at 1.00pm and admission will be strictly by ticket only. Concert will run from 2pm to 5pm.

Alcohol will not be permitted or sold within the perimeters and concert promoters reserve the right to refuse admission.
