Davina's Ark have been nominated for the Pride of Place Awards in the City Wellbeing category. The awards are run in association with Co-operation Ireland.
Newry City Councillor Aidan Mathers congratulated them on their nomination. “Davina’s Ark is a powerful example of compassion in action,” said Councillor Mathers. “Since 2013, they’ve been transforming lives in our community — not only supporting individuals facing addiction, but also walking alongside their families through some of their most difficult times.”
“What truly sets Davina’s Ark apart is their deep commitment to being there when people need them most. As an out-of-hours service — one that even opens on Christmas Day — their message is clear that no one should face these challenges alone. Their presence at community events and their consistent, non-judgemental support speak volumes about their values and the heart behind their work.”
Cllr Mathers added: “I’m proud to support their nomination and wish them every success in the Pride of Place Awards. They reflect the very best of Newry — community-led, people-focused, and relentlessly compassionate.
