A new awareness film examining the effects of cocaine use and addiction on individuals, families and communities has been premiered at the Canal Court Hotel in Newry. 'Impacts of Cocaine - The Human Cost' was developed by aftercare addiction services charity Davina's Ark in partnership with Newry, Mourne and Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP).

Place Awards for its compassionate care to families and individuals affected
by addiction.
The event was hosted by former Armagh GAA footballer and mental health advocate Oisín McConville. Also in attendance were Newry and Armagh MP Daire Hughes, PSNI Deputy Chief Constable Ryan Henderson, Davina's Ark Chief Executive Officer Rosemary Rooney, Davina's Ark Board members Gavin Booth and Ciaran Mackin, and Martina Flynn, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Head of Engagement.
The film places people at the centre of the conversation around drug addiction, challenges perceptions and confronts the misconception that cocaine use is a victimless activity. It was developed to highlight the devastating human cost of cocaine use and addiction across individuals, families and communities.
Davina's Ark, provides aftercare and support services to those affected by addiction. The charity worked alongside Newry, Mourne and Down PCSP to produce the film as part of wider efforts to address drug-related harm in the area.
