Hospice Volunteer Deborah Kennedy has been named ‘Long Service Fundraising Volunteer’ at the annual Institute of Fundraising Awards in Belfast.

The awards celebrate excellence in fundraising by potential fundraisers and organisations. When Southern Area Hospice Services was founded in late 1989, supporters and volunteers joined the organisation to help raise money to fund their services.  One Newry lady Deborah Kennedy decided to hold a sponsored walk in Newry in order to raise both money and awareness of this new service available to people with life limiting illnesses and their families.
