The Festival has a number of Major Sponsors – the Arts Council of N.I. Newry & Mourne District Council, Newry Credit Union and Clanrye Abbey Development. This year the Festival has increased its number of Sponsors to its greatest ever.
The event has long enjoyed the excellent backing of the Business and Professional people of the District whose names appear in the Souvenir Programme and this year - on a special Sponsors Stand"

The Festival is renowned for looking after the visiting groups by way of expenses and hospitality and of engaging top quality adjudicators.
Speaking at their recent Anniversary Dinner Festival Chairman, Gerry McNulty stated "Theatre-going is one of to-day’s main leisure activities- ranging from major professional companies producing well-known classics in huge auditoriums to what might be regarded as smaller-scale events like the Drama Festival. However, the Drama Festivals in Ireland play a significant role in providing access to the world of drama in all its forms to places where there is little or no Professional Theatre."
"A Diamond Jubilee celebration for a voluntary organisation is a solemn, yet wonderful, occasion as it bears witness not only to the longevity of the event but also highlights good management of its resources and steadfast input by its many members, supporters and sponsors down through the years."
"Furthermore, with such a rich history, today’s Press Reception demonstrates the Festival’s maturity and self-confidence in its achievements. It recognises the incalculable hours of voluntary service provided by the members to keep Theatre alive in Newry. Their ongoing work has ensured that Newry’s reputation for hosting one of the foremost Festivals on the island of Ireland is secure. We look forward to a very successful Diamond Jubilee Festival 23rd-31st March 2012."
