Executive Cycle for Action Cancer

Northern Ireland Housing Executive have teamed up with McConvey Cycles to raise vital funds for Action Cancer

On Friday 7th October Housing Executive staff will celebrate the Housing Executive’s 40th Anniversary by cycling between the organisation’s 44 offices across Northern Ireland and fundraising for Action Cancer.

Eight different routes will be held simultaneously giving every member of the organisation an opportunity to take part. A team of people will complete each leg collecting for Action Cancer along the way.

Commenting on the event, Housing Executive, Chief Executive, John McPeake, said “I congratulate the Cycle 40 team and all those who are supporting this challenge. Our network of local offices around the province has always been important in the way we do our business, working in and with communities. I am delighted that through Cycle 40, and the team cycling through our estates, all of our offices will be linked as we celebrate our 40th anniversary.

‘Staff throughout the Housing Executive have been involved in initiatives which have had an impact beyond housing. Cycle 40 is an example of some of the challenges our staff have faced helping others, whether it’s practical help in their local communities or fundraising for a very worthwhile cause like Action Cancer.”

The CYCLE 40 event has been sponsored by McConveys Cycles who are keen to support Action Cancer’s work in promoting healthier lifestyles and raising awareness of the link between lifestyle choices and the risk of cancer.

“Local staff will be out in strength to ensure the riders get a good send off. The Housing Executive has a long track record of raising funds for charity but the fact this event is also celebrating our 40th anniversary makes it a bit more special.”
