Evora Hospice Care held its annual Light Up a Life ceremony on Thursday night 11 December. Despite the wet and miserable night hundreds of people gathering in the hospice grounds to remember family and friends no longer with them.
The Christmas tree at the hospice was illuminated with hundreds of individual lights, each one dedicated to someone special being remembered this festive season. The tree lighting provided a focal point for the evening, offering those present a chance to reflect and pay tribute to their loved ones.
Gordons Chemists and Killowen Contracts sponsored this year's event, with their backing helping to ensure the ceremony was a fitting occasion for all the families who attended.
People who couldn't make it to the ceremony, or anyone wanting to dedicate another light, can still do so online. Virtual dedications allow supporters to upload photographs and messages in memory of someone special.
The hospice has thanked everyone who helped make the evening possible, including sponsors, volunteers and staff. Donations towards the hospice's work can be made at visufund.com
