The second Newry Food Festival held on Friday was a real feast for the senses with a huge range of businesses displaying the finest local produce. The event was planned, organised and delivered by the Year 1 Foundation Degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management and International Travel & Tourism Management students as part of their Events Operations module.
The event had a full demonstration and entertainment programme, which featured Catering Students from all of the chef programmes on offer at SRC. Other demonstrators included Aine Boyle from Aine’s Kitchen Cookery School and Katrina Lynch from The Gluten Free Patisserie. There was live music for everyone to enjoy from Foundation Degree student Rachel Vogan, SRC Performing Arts student Caolon Dooley, 13 year old musician Jude Kennedy and a street and Zumba dance performance from Warrenpoint based Personal Performance.
Participating businesses included: Neary Nogs Chocolates, La Dolce Vita, Red Dog Artisan Food, Passion Preserved, Pop ‘n’ Candy Treats, Camran Crafts, Long Lane Pantry, Holdens Chocolates, Sugar Supper Club, Made with Love xo, Café Krem, PEPPUP Ltd, Amberline Preserves, Harnetts Oils, Burren Balsamics, The Krazi Baker, The Gluten Free Patisserie, Art Bar Funkel, Tasty Wee Numbers, Tom & Ollies, Kombucha, Kennedy Bacon, Need Of Meats, KP, Wake up and Taste, Finegan and Sons, Harbour Inn, Ballymoran Meats, Crepes 2 Go, Hog Plate, Simply Irresistible, Red Bus Company, Gourmet NI, RSPB, Southern Area Hospice, Pixie Wings & Things and Jumping Clay.
The Market was provided free of charge to stall holders by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
