A local councillor has asked road users to be careful while travelling along the Carrickasticken Road at Forkhill due to trenches forming along parts of the road.

Slieve Gullion Councillor Mickey Larkin said "Several trenches have developed along the edge of the Carrickasticken Road at Forkhill. There have been a number of close shaves with car wheels dropping into these trenches and drivers having difficulty maintaining control. Apart from the obvious dangers involved, this can be an extremely frightening experience.
The Slieve Gullion Councillor has reported the issue to the Roads Service emphasising the need for prompt action to rectify the problem and adds "In the meantime I would implore those using the Carricasticken Road to exercise care, be they drivers, cyclists or walkers."
