Three hundred pounds worth of toys have been donated to the Children’s Ward at Daisy Hill Hospital by the Friends of Daisy Hill charity, just in time for Christmas.
The charity has been fundraising for patient comforts for over 56 years and during this time has donated thousands of pounds to make improvements throughout the hospital.
Paying tribute to their work, Chair of the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Roberta Brownlee said “On behalf of all of our staff I would like to thank the Friends of Daisy Hill Hospital for their tireless efforts in improving the experience of our patients.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Friends we have been able to buy many little extras over the years like relatives chairs, spare nightwear, TVs and this lovely supply of toys that really can help to make a hospital stay that little bit easier.”
