Cancer Focus NI is again teaming up with Red Marty Promotions to host Strictly Goes Country in Newry in March to raise vital funds for cancer research.

Last year’s event was a huge success and raised a fantastic £21,850 for the charity’s family support service.

Already for 2019 Cancer Focus NI is looking for 20 people to get their jiving boots on. No previous dancing experience is required, you will be taught to strut your stuff by professional jive teacher Marty O’Connor, of Red Marty Promotions.  You can sign up on your own or with a friend.

Training starts on Tuesday 5 February and there will be a grand finale on Friday 29 March at the Mourne Country Hotel, Newry. Tickets are available for friends, family and the public.

Joanne Smith, Community Fundraising Officer, CancerFocus NI, said: “We are so excited to hold our Strictly Goes Country fundraising event once again in Newry after last year’s success.  For anyone who has ever dreamed of taking to the stage like the stars, this is your chance to make that dream come true!

“Even if you’ve never jived before, it’s a great chance to learn something new, increase your fitness and have an amazing time while raising money for cancer research here in Northern Ireland.

“Sign up is only £30 to secure your place and we request a minimum of £300 to be raised through fundraising by each dancer. All the money raised will go towards our research at Queen’s University.

“Anyone who wants to get involved should get in contact today – spaces are limited!”

Anyone wishing to sign up or who wants more information can contact joannesmith@cancerfocusni.org or call 07918 709 709
