Planning permission is being sought for a tourism development near Crossmaglen. The site on land at Loughross Road outside the town would see 6 luxury glamping pods put in place as well as a water sports and recreation centre. There are also plans for 2 jetties and a recreational boardwalk and office and visitor building as well as associate parking and ancillary works. The development is overlooking Lough Ross.

The proposal contains 6 luxury glamping pods with bedroom, kitchenette, siting area and a small bathroom staggered in a row along the lough shore. The pods would be accessed viia a new boarded walkway separated by soft landscaping. giving one bedroom, a kitchenette and siting area and a small bathroom within each of them. Each pod would have its own outdoor seating deck and hot tub area.
The development also proposes communal facilities including a recreation centre, and two new jetties for activities associated with Lough Ross. These facilities would be open to both guests visiting the holiday park as well as the general public, providing water based activities for the local community. Activities would include hiring of kayaks, paddle boards and wind surfing; Fishing boats, Yoga and Lake trips.
