The competition organised by Newry and Mourne District Council tourism department saw hundreds of entries to win a three night B&B stay in the Canal Court Hotel, £100 voucher for Buttercrane Shopping Centre and £100 voucher for the Quays Shopping & Leisure Complex, Newry.
Almost 50,000 people attended the Holiday World Show, which was held in Dublin from 25th - 27th of January 2013. Newry and Mourne Tourism were one of over 600 stands that took part in the show, to offer information about walking, heritage, retail and cultural breaks in the area.
Newry and Mourne District Council Mayor Councillor John McArdle selected the winning ticket at Newry Tourist Information Centre on Thursday 7 February 2013. He commented: "We are continuing to see a cross-over of visitors enjoying the Ring of Gullion, Newry and Mourne area and this competition is a great promotional tool to encourage tourists to experience what this beautiful area has to offer."
The hundreds of competition entries will see a host of new contact information added to Newry and Mourne tourism's consumer database, which will be used for future marketing campaigns. The winner will have a choice of when to stay at the four star Canal Court Hotel.
