Write a commentThe Southern Area Hospice Services recently hosted businesses from Newry along with local MLAs in Parliament buildings for the launch of their exclusive campaign, the ‘500 Club’. The event which was sponsored by Dominic Bradley MLA encouraged businesses to make a difference to their local hospice by donating £100 and in return receive membership to the ‘500 Club'.
The campaign will aid the Hospice in developing its much needed services and by donating just £100 businesses could help provide a patient with six hours specialist nursing care, four sessions with a Hospice Physiotherapist, deliver a programme of Complementary Therapies or avail of the Hospice Day-Care Facility.
A further incentive to join the 500 Club is that all members will be entered into a free draw and be in with a chance of winning a £1,000 holiday voucher. Later in the year the Hospice will also be hosting networking events for members of the Club to attend.
It is vital for the success of this initiative that 500 businesses sign up thus raising £50,000 for development of hospice services allowing them to continue to provide free of charge special care in the local community.
Fiona Stephens, Corporate Fundraiser at The Southern Area Hospice said, “The 500 Club is a fantastic opportunity for businesses throughout the Southern Health Board Region to endorse the work carried out by the hospice in the heart of the community. All businesses have to do is complete a short application form and pop it into the free post envelope provided back to us for processing”.
Dominic Bradley MLA, Sponsor of the event said, “I am a huge supporter of the Southern Area Hospice and the outstanding services they provide to local community. I urge as many businesses as possible to sign up to the ‘500 Club’ as through this campaign alone, the hospice has the potential to raise £50,000, much needed funds for sustaining their invaluable service”.
Businesses throughout the Newry area will receive a copy of the 500 Club application form through their door providing information on the 500 Club, and the application sections for businesses who want to sign up to the club to complete and return in the free post envelope provided.
