Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Philip Campbell was on hand to see the 2025 Evora Hospice Annual Christmas Sit Out begin in Marcus Square, Hill Street, Newry at the weekend.
Cllr Campbell started the fundraising by presented a cheque for £200 to Evora Hospice Fundraising Officer James McCaffrey.
A hospice spokesperson said "The Hospice are always very grateful for the support from the council in launching, donating and helping with logistics for the overall event."
Hospice staff and volunteers will carry out the sit out until Christmas Eve, collecting at Hill Street as well as Damolly Retail Park and Fiveways.
The annual Christmas Sit Out is a key fundraising initiative for Evora Hospice, with volunteers braving the winter weather to raise vital funds that support the hospice's work within the local community throughout the year.
