Newry Mourne and Down Councillor Mickey Ruane has urged any householder who presently receive an Assisted Refuse Bin Lift from the Council Refuse Services to respond to the letter which the Council has sent to them.

The Sinn Féin Council Group Leader explained “Council is currently undertaking an audit of all residents who presently receive an assisted bin lift service (Back Door Collection). They have written to all on their records who are receiving this Service asking them to confirm that they still require it. Should a person still require it they must fill in the form and return it by June the 1st. If the Council do not receive a returned form, it will take it that the Bin Lift is not required and they will loose the service”.
The Councillor concluded “Many householders require this service from our Council. It is important that they can access it. Anyone who has concerns or require more information should feel free to contact myself or any of my colleagues or the Council Waste Team directly at 033000132233"
