Newry based businesses CRASH Services and JMK Solicitors have raised an impressive £10,000 in the first half of 2025 for their charity partner, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.

Supporting a chosen charity each year is a core part of both organisations’ values. Their dedicated Charity Committee works year-round to organise impactful fundraising events and initiatives. Between January and June, the teams took part in a variety of activities, with a significant contribution of nearly £3,000 coming from staff who participated in the Belfast Marathon in early May.

Meg McKeown, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cancer Focus NI, expressed her appreciation "We are so grateful for the continued support from CRASH Services, JMK Solicitors and Granite Exchange. Their contributions will go a long way within our charity and will have a lasting impact on local people on a cancer journey in Northern Ireland. For the last 55 years, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland has supported local people on their cancer journey, working to reduce the risk, impact and outcomes of all cancers through four main areas of work: cancer support services, cancer prevention initiatives, research, and policy & advocacy. We thank all the staff at CRASH Services, JMK Solicitors and Granite Exchange for their support over the past six months, and for joining us on this exciting new journey.”

Alongside their fundraising activities, employees contribute through regular monthly salary donations and for every download of the CRASH & JMK app, the companies donate £1—offering customers and clients an easy way to get involved and support the charity’s work.

Plans for the rest of the year include participation in the Causeway Coast Marathon Walk, as well as further fundraising events such as breakfast mornings and lunchtime quizzes.

Michelle Murphy, Operations Director commented, “At CRASH Services, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Supporting Cancer Focus Northern Ireland is a shared mission that unites our teams, and we’re committed to making a meaningful difference through fundraising, awareness, and collective action. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact our efforts have on such a vital local charity."

Louise Mone, Managing Director of JMK Solicitors, added, "Cancer Focus Northern Ireland is a charity close to the hearts of many of our staff.  We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far this year, and we look forward to continuing to support the charity and the work they do in the year ahead.”

Colleen O’Hare from Granite Exchange concluded, “We look forward to the year ahead and doing what we can to help Cancer Focus Northern Ireland in supporting local people live their most fulfilled lives with access to world-leading, equitable cancer support, treatment, diagnosis, prevention, and research.”
