Newry man John Fearon is already preparing for his next big challenge in life when he plans to take part in the Annapurna Trek in the Himalayas in January next and in the process raise much needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Marie Curie provide vital assistance to people with terminal illness and it’s a charity close to his heart as they looked after his mother during her illness in 2012.
John works in the IT department of Newry and Mourne District Council and has joined Treks to Base Camp Everest, New Zealand, Machu Picchiu Peru, and Kilmanjaro in 2011 and a trek in the Rockies last September.
In the past he has also raised funds for a Meningitis Charity, again a charity he has good cause to support with his youngest daughter Hannah, now a teenager, contracting the virus as a one year old in 2002.
For his latest challenge he will be organising a major fundraising night during the summer and any form of sponsorship or donation would be greatly appreciated.
He hopes by the time the event comes round in January 2015 he will have raised much more than the minimum £3700 necessary for the trek.
Cheques should be made payable to Marie Curie Trading Ltd and sent to John at 5 Ulster Villas, Newry, BT34 2NZ.
