Write a commentNewry & Mourne Sinn Féin Councillor Liz Kimmins has appealed on behalf of the local community to encourage all to keep the steps from Barcroft Park to Dominic Street, known locally as"Glen Steps", clean and safe.
" I have been working with local Council Officers to ensure that the recent cleaning and power-hosing of the steps area will be maintained. Hopefully the trees in that area will be cut back and this will add to the cleanliness and more importantly safety of the much used passage" said the local Councillor who continued " Unfortunately there are those who continue to break bottles and mess up this area with litter and this is a huge inconvenience to local residents who use the steps on a daily basis. More worryingly it is a health and safety concern "
The Councillor concluded by stating "This is a regular occurrence and I would be encouraging people not to dump their litter in this area and to keep them clean and tidy for the benefit of all"
