Write a commentA Newry & Mourne Sinn Féin Councillor has said that there is growing concern about the steady flow of "creeper" style robberies within the area.
Cllr Liz Kimmins made her comments after reports of the most recent incident which occurred in Park View Cloghogue near Newry.
The Councillor has also warned the community to be extra vigilant and to look out for each other after a family lost their car after the latest in a long line of ‘creeper’ burglaries across the locality
Commenting on recent incidents Cllr Kimmins said "This type of crime where a family home has been entered in a "creeper" style robbery and the family vehicle taken is now all to familiar a story in the area. There is growing concern within communities about these robberies and the apparent ease that those involved with these crimes can carry them out with. People want these crimes tackled with those involved in them apprehended and convicted and if that means increasing both Police focus and resources for that objective, then that is what needs to happen" said the local Councillor who urged all to be vigilant and look out for not only themselves but their neighbours too."
