Detectives investigating recent burglaries in the homes of older residents in the Newry area have made an arrest.
A 29-year-old man was apprehended on the evening of Saturday, 5 October, in Newry on suspicion of two counts of burglary with intent to steal. He remains in custody as police continue their inquiries.
The arrest follows reports of a man entering a property in Loanda Crescent under the pretense of offering gutter cleaning services, and another incident on Ardgreen Drive where a safe and a bank card were stolen.
