This weekend promises to be a busy one on the event calendar finishing on Sunday with Newry's very first Festival of Water with a free concert headlined by X Factor star Matt Cardle.
The very first Newry City Triathlon will take place at the Albert Basin and will include a “Sprint the Distance” which will include a 750m Swim Leg, 20k Cycle Route and 5K Run. Also there will be a TRY-A-TRI for under 18 to gain experience at competing in triathlons.
Following the triathlon the IWAI Newry and Portadown branch are holding their annual Bath Tub Race where staying dry in not an option!
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are also hosting an ultimate fire fighter demonstration outside the Quays.
Finishing off the day the Albert Basin will come alive to the sounds of X-Factor star Matt Cardle supported by The Nooks and The Professionals.
Event times are:
11am - Newry City Triathlon
11.30am - Try a Triathlon (7 to 12 yrs)
12.30pm - NI Fire and Rescue Ultimate Fire Demonstration
2pm - IWAI Newry and Portadown Bathtub Race
3.30pm - Concert
