Write a commentFollowing last weeks elections to Stormont, newly elected Newry and Armagh Assembly Member Justin McNulty has thanked his voters and election team.
Justin said, "I am so proud to have been elected to represent the people of Newry and Armagh at Stormont. I sincerely thank all those who came out and placed their faith in myself and my colleague Karen McKevitt. I pledge to work for everyone across Newry and Armagh to make our communities a better place.
"Our election campaign was full of energy, enthusiasm and strong political belief to see the Assembly deliver more than it has done for Newry and Armagh and its people. My campaign team have volunteered tirelessly, knocking doors, talking to local people, and gathering support. As I begin my work in Stormont as an MLA, I do so because of the strong support I have received from my team and I take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for all their hard work and dedication.
"I want to thank the people of Newry and Armagh who welcomed us so warmly on the doorsteps.
“I also want to pay tribute to the tireless work of Karen McKevitt who was a first class public representative and will continue to be an outstanding activist for the SDLP and her local community.
"Today I follow in the footsteps of great men who I have admired and respected, including Armagh's finest Seamus Mallon, the late John Fee and, of course, Dominic Bradley. I am honoured and humbled to follow in their footsteps.
