Newry and Armagh MLA and Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has visited Daisy Hill Hospital where she has commended healthcare staff and called for an end to damaging British government policies that she believes continue to put pressure on public services.
Minister Kimmins visited the hospital with party colleagues Dáire Hughes MP, Aoife Finnegan MLA and Seanadóir Conor Murphy.
“Today’s visit to Daisy Hill Hospital was a powerful reminder of the dedication and professionalism of our healthcare workers, who continue to deliver first-class care under sustained pressure,” said Ms Kimmins.
“I want to pay tribute to the staff and management at Daisy Hill for their commitment, and for the systems they’ve put in place across departments to ensure patients receive the best possible care and outcomes.
“Speaking to healthcare workers in the hospital, it’s clear they are going above and beyond.
“Like all hospitals across the north, Daisy Hill is dealing with the fallout from more than fifteen years of savage British government austerity.
“Sinn Féin will continue to stand up for our health service, and I will keep working alongside workers at Daisy Hill Hospital to ensure they get the support they need in their roles."
