Write a commentThe Northbound carriageway of the A1 remains closed this evening while police investigate a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on the A1 south of Newry.
The incident happened close to the junction of the Old Dublin Road shortly after 3pm and involved a BMW motorcycle.
The male motorcyclist, aged in his 40’s, was airlifted to a hospital in Belfast by the Police helicopter where his condition is described as serious.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the A1 this afternoon and who witnessed the collision or anyone who stopped with the motorcyclist after the collision to contact officers at Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 842 of 13/07/17.
