To celebrate Halloween, Newry and Mourne Museum will hold arts and crafts workshops on the 30th October, for children aged four and upward with a cost of £1.50 per child.
Museum staff will be at hand to help your kids use their monstrous imaginations to create the most fiendish Halloween creations including, masks, bats, and scarecrows in celebration of the scariest time of the year.
Over the day families can work together on a number of activities in the Museum’s Banqueting Room for Halloween night, and then take a twisted tour of the Galleries with our “horrible” hunt.
Noreen Cunningham, Museum Curator stated, “Our seasonal workshops are aimed at families offering them an opportunity to visit the Museum, see the exhibitions on display, and to take part and enjoy the activities together. There will be plenty to keep the children occupied for an hour or even the whole day, and their parents won’t have to clean up the mess!”
The activities take place on the 30th October starting at 10.30am – 12.30pm and again from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
For parents who haven’t visited the Museum yet this is a great reason to come along with their kids, take part in the fun and see the rich heritage of Newry and Mourne on exhibition.
The workshop is £1.50 per child and can be booked in advance by ringing the museum on 028 3031 3178. An adult must accompany children.
This is a drop-in event. Newry and Mourne Museum is open to the public seven days a week with admission free of charge. For opening hours, information on events and exhibitions, other services and bookings please phone 028 3031 3178 / 028 3031 3182 or visit www.bagenalscastle.com.
