Slieve Gullion Councillor Mickey Larkin has welcomed a replacement Bus Shelter at Jonesborough.
Cllr Larkin who had been lobbying for a replacement explained “The old shelter was in a dilapidated and possibly dangerous state. It presented as an eyesore at the centre of this bustling South Armagh village.
Situated close to the new shop and retail units it really detracted from the vibrancy of the area."
During the last Council term I requested that the bus shelter be replaced. Over the past two years I have liaised with Council staff to ensure that this work was eventually carried out”
Concluding the Slieve Gullion Councillor said, “I welcome the removal of the old shelter and the instillation of a modern attractive shelter with seating included. This adds to the streetscape within the village and I would thank the Council staff for their help in delivering this for Jonesborough"
