A St Paul's High School teacher has set up her own dance school in Newry.
Murray Dance Academy is founded by Olivia Murray a World Champion irish dancer who has travelled all over the world with Riverdance.
As she explains "Having finished the 25th Anniversary tour with Riverdance, I am now trying to set up my own dance school here in Newry. I am starting classes in Thomas Davis GAC, Newry on the Chancellor’s Road which hopefully will also restart the club’s appearance in the Scor competitions."
Murray is providing the preschool Irish Dance program “JumpnJig” for ages 2-4+. Classes will provide children with the fundamental basics of Irish dancing through the use of popular nursery rhymes, Irish music, the use of props, colour and plenty of fun.
Classes take place on Tuesdays at Thomas Davis GAC from 4.30-5pm for 2-3 year olds and 5-6pm for over 4's. You must register in advance by contacting the dance school at 075 6184 8196
or check out their Facebook at murraydanceacademy
