Newry, Mourne and Down has a new Police District Commander.
Superintendent Paul Reid who has almost thirty years of policing experience has taken up the post from Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon where he held the position of Performance Chief Inspector.

Superintendent Reid said: “I am delighted with my new appointment and am keen to build on and develop the excellent work and partnerships which already exist here. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and the community across Newry, Mourne and Down.
“I am also pleased to welcome Chief Inspector Joe McMinn and Chief Inspector Bernard O’ Connor to the management team. Chief Inspector Joe McMinn will take over the role of Performance Chief Inspector and Chief Inspector Bernard O’Connor will take on the role of Community Engagement Chief Inspector in a temporary capacity.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to prevent, detect and deter crime across Newry, Mourne and Down.”
