Newry Museum has at long last got signs installed to help people locate the facility.

Before the signs were put in place yesterday it would have been possible for the untrained eye to think that the premises was a bakery run by Arthur McCann Ltd as no other marking was on the building.
The fact that the former McCanns 'Victoria Bakery' contained a listed structure as part of the building no doubt caused extra complication when planning signage in the past.
The former bakery established in 1837 was built around the mid 16th century Castle believed to have been erected by Nicholas Bagenal.
An application for planning permission for the signage had been submitted in December 2021 and was passed.
Both Newry and Mourne Museum and Down County Museum are open Tues to Saturday 10am-4.30pm and entry is free.
Newry Museum is currently offering free tours of the exhibition galleries on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2.00 pm. These must be booked in advance by calling their Education Officer at 0330 137 4422.
