Conor Smyth and sister Yvonne Smyth are embarking on their fundraising trip to France today, 24 June in memory of their late father, Jimmy Smyth. They will be raising funds along the way for four different charities including Southern Area Hospice. The pair have already raised over £9000 far surpassing their target of £2000
A spokesperson from the Hospice said "The Southern Area Hospice would like to wish Conor and Yvonne Smyth the best of luck as they cycle to St Armel, Morbihan, France from Newry. Conor and Yvonne only started their training in February for this challenge and they intend to cycle approximately 348kms in Ireland and 200kms in France."
They're completing this challenge to raise much needed funds for Alzheimer's Society, Dementia NI, Marie Cure and Southern Area Hospice. Conor said; “We know first-hand just how important it is to have the support of these charities when you most need it and many people out there will need that too. We intend to keep our cycling adventure updated on our GoFund Me page, both in Ireland and France and hope you can follow us and cheer us on virtually.”
