Newry High School held a Carols By Candlelight evening last night at St Patrick's Church in Newry. Their School Carol Service was filled with communal hymns, solos, instrumentals and more, with the flicker of candles helping get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
The packed Church saw Head Girl, Sinead Heaney give a beautiful rendition of Oh Holy Hight while Year 9 pupil Callum Freeburn, performed a brilliantly energetic Drum Solo along to Jingle Bells.
The school ensemble finished off the night with a wonderful rousing version of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
A school spokesperson said "A massive thank you to Mrs McCabe - Wells for all her hard work in preparing the event, and a huge well done to all our pupils who took part in the evening, we are so proud of you all!"
Rev Scott Mcdonald read a Christmas message, and the ladies of the congregation provided refreshments at the end of the service.
The spokesperson added "Thank you also to St Patrick's and St Mary's Church of Ireland for hosting the evening and for providing tea and refreshments."
