Following on from extensive flooding in Newry last October, Newry Leisure Centre is the venue this week for a Flood Review Open Evening. It's part of three such events this week with Portadown and Downpatrick also involved.
The Newry event takes place tomorrow Thursday 27 June from 4-7pm and it is open to the public.
Consultant Jacobs will present emerging findings and considerations and seek to gather any outstanding information during the sessions. On each of the open evenings, Jacobs will deliver a presentation at 4.30pm and 6pm.
A draft report of the review will be finalised by Jacobs as soon as possible after the Opening Evenings and handed over to the multi-agency partners for publication. The feedback collated from both individual agency and the multi-agency debrief processes will be subjected to due consideration by relevant civil contingencies fora. This will ensure that subsequent recommendations are further clarified, developed, and allocated appropriate governance provisions to enable implementation and delivery assurance oversight.
