Newry.ie 2022 Photographer of the Year Announced

The scores are in and the winner of the 2022 Newry.ie Photographer of the Year has been announced. Overall winner is the very worthy Tomasz Pietruszka.  Tomasz won rounds in May, July and  November.

Runner up Gavin Eaton won the April and June rounds. There was only one round where the top two didn't win and that was the last one although Tomasz did come second missing out by just two points! Winner for the December heat of our competition was newcomer Lee Quinn with a superb photograph taken at Gosford Forest Park.

Tomasz Pietruszka wins the top prize of £200 and the NPOY 22 Trophy courtesy of Newry.ie. Runner up Gavin Eaton  wins £100 and the December winner wins a £25 voucher for Finegan and Son.

Columba O'Hare, Director, Newry.ie said "This was our first year to try a photography competition on Newry.ie. While it presented its own particular challenges for ourselves being a new initiative, local photographers embraced the opportunity to showcase their work. Coming from a photographic background myself, it is refreshing that there is so much talent out there. Tomasz is a very worthy winner for the first year of our competition."

Prizes will be distributed shortly and we will add a further story when the trophy is handed over.
